139 Townsend Street, San Francisco

1/9

This historic five story brick and timber building, built originally in 1909 as a warehouse, evolved into a sought-after home for venture capital and fin tech offices.

With great sensitivity to its historic designation, significant improvements were made at the exterior which include a new ground floor glazing system, sidewalk paving, building canopy and lobby interior. In contrast the lobby is minimally composed of sublime sculptural elements; a desk and bench fabricated in one-inch thick steel placed on a monolithic plane of terrazzo flooring.
