Private Residence 6, San Francisco

1/14

With live/work space in demand, this flat was designed to accommodate all aspects of daily life.

Rather than strongly delineate living space from work, Garcia Tamjidi developed a solution as an open amalgamation of both. The key organizing element, a large floating library with a streamlined galley kitchen defines a work and social activity area to support a desk and reading table. The details, materials and textures were chosen to suggest the simplicity found in Japanese design. A sophisticated lighting and sound system allows for focused work activity at all times of the day.
